About
Born & Raised on the Lower East Side of Manhattan; I saw New York's
nightclub scene begin it's epic rise and by 1975 I began to
setup my sound system in the local parks and community centers
playing music for people well into the summer nights. New magazines
like Record World, Discothekin' & IDRC's SPIN along with writers
Vince Aletti, Brian Chin & Larry Flick were shining the spotlight on
famous DJs, Artists & Discos all over the US, Canada & Europe
and I wanted to see and hear them all.
By 1979; I was a member of Intermetro Record Pool. Dewayne Dixon; Intermetro's President & Director, introduced me to David Mancuso and
I began working for David's legendary afterhours party at his Loft on
99 Prince St. My co-workers at "The Loft" included legendary DJs David Rodriguez & Nicky Siano. In 1984 I became Promotions Director
& Road Manager At Personal Records where I assisted owner, Jurgen Korduletsch in signing George Kranz's smash hit "DIN DAA DAA"
to the label. I also worked Claudja Barry, Bobby Orlando &
"O" Records promoting artists' The Flirts, Divine & The Pet Shop Boys.
By 1987 I had written & produced my 1st dance single
"The Real Deal" by the legendary Sandy Barber on Vinyl Mania Records.
In the 1980s I was the DJ at New York Citys' BEST nightclubs. such as
Club A, Regines, Area, Nell's, Magique, Surf Club, Big Kahuna,
21 Hudson, Zulu lounge, Atlantic Connection(Martha'sVineyard),
Le Mans(Southampton with a live Mixshow Saturday nights on WSBH),
Cafe Society, Metronome, Milk Bar, Peggy Sue's, Playboy Club, Shout,
Le Club, Maxim's, Reigns Nightclub, Spodee Odee & Au Bar.
By the late 1980s; I became a member of For The Record the #1 record pool
in the dance music industry also; I was a "Billboard Reporter" which was a coveted position to attain with only 125 DJs in the entire U.S. determining
which songs charted on the Magazine's "Hot 100 Dance Chart"
In 1990 For The Records' owner Judy Weinstein hired me as Robert Owen's
road manager for the 4th & Broadway/Island Records European tour.
In the later 1990's; I was hired by Issy Sanchez at Elite/ADM as a promoter
for major label recording artists to DJs world wide.
In 1998 I began working with Oscar Poche at Media Services promoting
records for multiple labels to Billboard Magazines' "Hot 100 Dance Chart"
My DJ residencies during the 1990s were Tatou, Supper Club,
Izzy Bar(SuperFunk), System, Metronome, Mirage, Global 33, Lot 61,
Cream, Crane Club, Venue, 420 Lounge, Gauguin(The Plaza Hotel),
Downtime, Paragon(Miami), Expo, Hudson Bar, Morgan's, Club USA,
Nell's, Lotus, Speed, Tillmans, Halo, 49 Grove, Taj, La Marina, Le Souk,
Village Lantern, Le Grande & Checkmate
My Special Events clients have always been A-List as well. Dr. Paul J. Frank's Birthday Event @ The Prince George Ballroom with Lawrence Scott Events, Diana Frank's Birthday Event with Lawrence Scott Events in
