Born & Raised on the Lower East Side of Manhattan; New York's nightlife
was right outside my front door. It was common place for myself and other neighborhood DJs to setup in the parks and play music well into the
summer nights. New magazines like Record World, Discothekin' & IDRC's Spin along with writers like Vince Aletti, Brian Chin & Larry Flick were shining the spotlight on DJs & Discos all over the US, Canada & Europe
and I wanted to see and hear them all.
By 1979; I was a member of Intermetro Record Pool. Dewayne Dixon; Intermetro's President & Director, introduced me to David Mancuso and by
1980; I began working for David's legendary afterhours party at his Loft on
99 Prince St. My co-workers at "The Loft" included legendary DJs David Rodriguez & Nicky Siano. In the mid 1980's I became Promotions Director
& Road Manager At Personal Records where I assisted owner, Jurgen Korduletsch in signing George Kranz's smash hit "DIN DAA DAA"
to the label. I also worked with producer/artist Bobby Orlando &
"O" Records promoting artists' The Flirts, Divine & The Pet Shop Boys.
By 1987 I had written & produced my 1st dance single
"The Real Deal" by the legendary Sandy Barber on Vinyl Mania Records.
I was also a resident DJ playing at many of New York Citys' best
nightclubs...Club A, Regines, Area, Nell's, Magique, Surf Club, Big Kahuna,
21 Hudson, Zulu lounge, Atlantic Connection(Martha'sVineyard),
Le Mans(Southampton with a live Mixshow Saturday nights on WSBH),
Cafe Society/Metronome, Milk Bar, Peggy Sue's, Fuego Fuego,
Playboy Club, Shout, Parallel Bar, Le Club, Maxim's,
Reigns Nightclub, Spodee Odee & Au Bar.
A decade later; I was a member of For The Record the #1 record pool and
a "Hitmaker" in the dance music industry. In the early 1990's Judy Weinstein
For The Record's owner; hired me as Robert Owen's road manager for
the 4th & Broadway/Island Records European tour.
In the later 1990's; I worked along side Issy Sanchez, George Hess,
Richie "Rich" Robles & Davey Gold at Elite/ADM promoting
major record label artists to Club & Radio Mixshow DJs world wide.
From the later 1990s into the present time; I worked with Oscar Poche at
Media Services/Open Bar Music promoting Indy record labels such as
DJ Erick Morillo's Subliminal Records. Their debut single "Cro Magnon"
by The Constipated Monkeys achieved a TOP 5 position on Billboard Magazine's "Hot 100 Dance Chart". My nightclub residencies at this time were
Tatou, Supper Club, Izzy Bar(SuperFunk), System, Metronome, Mirage,
Global 33, Lot 61, Cream, Crane Club, Venue, 420 Lounge,
Gauguin(Plaza Hotel), Downtime, Paragon(Miami), Expo, Hudson Bar,
Morgan's, Club USA, Nell's, Lotus, Speed, Tillmans, Halo, 49 Grove,
Taj, La Marina, Le Souk, Village Lantern, Le Grande & Checkmate
I was also a reporter for Billboard Magazine's
